Transmission fluid lubricates cleans and cools internal transmission parts. Additives in the fluid can reduce over time and numerous manufacturers recommend that it be replaced periodically. Automatic transmission gears deliver the power from engine to the drive wheels. Over time, the fluid inside the automatic transmission degrades. Manufacturers often suggest replacement at intervals stated in miles of driving or years of service. The interval may be shorter for extreme use. Replacing transmission fluid at the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals helps to maximize the life of the transmission and improves lubrication.
Manual transmission lubricant protects bearings, shafts, gears and other internal components. Changing the manual transmission fluid at Mr. Lube at the manufacturer’s recommended interval can assist prevent premature wear, costly repairs and damage to the transmission.
